Book Your Cleaning Crew Before the Last Coat of Paint Dries

The biggest scheduling mistake we see? Treating cleaning as an afterthought. Here's how to plan it like a trade — and move in days earlier.

Electricians, plumbers, painters, flooring — every trade on your renovation has a slot on the schedule. Cleaning usually doesn't. It gets booked the week of move-in, after the movers, and then everyone wonders why the closing walkthrough went sideways.

Cleaning is a trade. Schedule it like one.

The three-phase approach

  • Rough clean — after drywall, sanding and heavy work. Clears the bulk dust so finish trades aren't working in it.
  • Final clean — after all trades are done. The full detail: inside cabinets, vents, glass, fixtures, floors.
  • Touch-up — right before move-in, listing photos or handover. Catches the dust from last-minute punch items.

Why it saves you money

A rough clean protects your finishes from being ground into by the next trade. A planned final clean means the crew arrives once, fully staffed and equipped, instead of returning three times to chase dust. And a scheduled touch-up keeps your move-in date from slipping.

Our rule of thumb: call us when you have a target completion date, not when you have keys. Your project manager will map the right sequence to your contractor's schedule.
